Last Day

Well, today is the last day here in AZ. So far it's 6:39 and I am at work. I don't think it will be much of an accomplishing day. How can your last day really be on to get much work done? The work that really needs to be done is at home finishing up all of those little things that have to be done before the big move tomorrow. I wish I was at home with Hannah.
Our friends Marc, Deb and Jordyn came from CA to help us move. What amazing friends! I mean, who does that, really?! They are so great. Its been fun watching Hannah and Jordyn play with each other, and the couple of hours I got to spend chatting with Deb were refreshing.
Heike comes in tonight and then we're on the road tomorrow. Funny thing is, I have still never really been in Phoenix. Hilarious.
Stay tuned...

Journal 1-30-09
Exodus 25:1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give. 3 These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; 4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; 5 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows [a] ; acacia wood; 6 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; 7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.

The word for offering in this passage is terumah, meaning a free-will offering. There were still many reqirements and particulars to this free will offering. He knew what was needed for the tabernacle.

Beyond a tithe, the offering is your choice to give. And as I have learned you give an offering when it has been directed by God to do it. What I learn in this passage is that it is important to still hear the direction from God on offerings. Sure, helping with a certain ministry or project within your church may be fun and cool - and you may even see the results from your offering, but God may be directing your offering toward something else - something you may never see the fruit of in this life, but absolutely directed by the Lord.

Listen to the Lord. Wait on Him. Let Him order your actions. Because ultimately, just as in making the tabernacle, it is all for the glory of God.

New to the Blog World

I'm not sure why I've started a blog... I guess it will be a place for me to record my thoughts, updates, etc. We'll see how this goes...
What I am hoping to do is have a sort of "online accountability" for those of you who follow this for my online journaling - through the Word, and through my life. Of course, not all posts will be available for the public eye. Journaling through the Word is a personal thing, which I am sure will bring some private postings. But with the ones I do allow you to see I hope it will bring you encouragement for your own life.
Alright, so let it begin! My first official posting of my journaling will be tomorrow, so stay tuned! Tomorrow also happens to be my last day at Banner, and last full day in AZ.
I love new adventures...
